If you expose this plant to direct sunlight then you might see orange and rose highlights on its leaves so try to avoid direct sunlight. If you are growing this plant indoors keep it in locations where it can get bright indirect sunlight. When planted outdoors these plant needs sun as well as shelter from strong winds

You can use a cactus or a succulent potting mix that is well draining and either try to add coarse grit or you can add a mixture of grit and compost to it. Grit is small particles of sand or stone and you can use even 50 % mineral grit like perlite or coarse sand or pumice and add them to the potting mixture.

  1. The bottom leaves of the plant will start shriveling and turning brown as the plant grows. You have to make sure that you prune the plant to remove these brown leaves and also reduce any chances of fungal infections happening to your plant.
  2. The only maintenance this plant requires is to make sure that all dead leaves are removed and brown leaves are pruned besides that it is easy to care for.

Propagating Sedeveria Lilac Mist

You can propagate this plant either through stem cuttings or leaves or seeds like other succulents

By Stem Cuttings

You can propagate this plant using stem cuttings which is the most popular method just cut a healthy stem from the plant using a clean knife or scissors. Take the cutting and leave it for a few days to make it callous and then root it in water or soil

By Leaves

When propagating this plant from the leaves choose a healthy leaf and try to select and cut in such a way that no part of the leaf is left in the stem so that the meristem tissue which is the main part required for propagation is not left on the stem. Use soil that drains well and plant your leaf in that but only after you have left your leaf for a few days to make it become callous. You can determine that your leaf has become calloused when you check the point where the leaf was cut from the stem and that point is now dry instead of wet. Ensuring that your leaf has become callous will make sure your succulent plant doesn’t face loss of water or get infected. Do keep watering the plant when the soil is completely dry.

By Seeds

While this succulent can be grown by seeds it is not a recommended method for propagation as this plant is a very slow grower. This method usually works best when the plant is grown outdoors as you plant the seeds in soil that drains well and keep watering it until the roots start to grow.
